Blackhead Beach is about 3hrs north of Sydney in the rapidly growing Manning Great Lakes region. It is a multi-award winning beach and is regarded as one of the best swimming beaches in the Manning Valley. Only 1klm from Our door step.

A must for nature lovers and keen photographers who can meander along with littoral rainforest on both the Redhead headland ,in the middle of the beach and also on Blackhead headland.

The Big Buzz Fun Park is in Rainbow Flat NSW only 5 minutes from Happy Hallidays and offers the entire family a great day out with activities including:

Toboggan run, three open waterslides, jumbo slide, toddlers slide, kamikaze slide, BMX and mountain bikes (enclosed footwear required), speed karts (enclosed footwear required), mountain boards, tricycles, shoot for the basket, half tennis court, swimming pool, beach volleyball, trampolines, swings, nine-hole chip and putt short course golf, kiosk and plenty of undercover seating with free gas barbecues with shaded picnic area. The Open Barn can accommodate 200-250 people and can be hired out for private functions.

Wingham Brush Nature Reserve


Wingham Brush Nature Reserve is located in the township of Wingham, approximately 12 kilometres north west of Taree on the mid-north coast of NSW.

The reserve covers an area of approximately 9 hectares, it is one of the state's most significant maternity sites for the endangered grey-headed flying fox.

Popular tourist attractions in the region include Wingham Brush Nature Reserve; Wingham Museum, Ellenborough Falls, Tapin Tops and Cottan-Bimbang National Parks, and Dingo Tops, Bulga and Doyles River State Forests.

Wallis Lake Cruises


Cruising the waterways of Wallis Lake will be a comfortable experience for the whole family. It boasts the largest oyster growing region in Australia yielding over 2.2 million dozen oysters per annum.

There are two vessels offering regular tourist cruises of the Wallis Lake. Both the "Free Spirit" and "Amaroo 2000" which depart from jetties close to the Forster CBD. Wonderful marine life is often sited including a pelican rookery, dolphins, sea eagles, sea turtles, sharks, whales in season and beautiful birdlife.

The Wallis Lake system supports excellent recreational and commercial fish, crab and prawn fisheries, including the largest oyster-producing estuary in the state, it is fed by four rivers, the Wallamba, Wallingat, Coolongolook and Wang Qauk, it is 25km long and 9km wide with many picnic areas and water access points scattered around its shores.

The Lake is ideal for boating, fishing and dolphin watching with many picnic areas and water access points scattered around its shores.

Tallwoods Golf Course


Tallwoods is located just 5 mins from Happy Halliday, 3 hours north of Sydney at Hallidays Point, only five minutes drive from Red Head, Black Head and Diamond Beaches with the townships of Forster/Tuncurry and Taree only a 15 minutes drive away.

The championship 18 hole golf course is the best golf in the region. It is an interesting design which fits well into the terrain with stunning views from the higher tees. The holes are challenging and stimulating – all difficult but not impossible with prolific native vegetation and extensive water features evident throughout the course.

Barrington Tops


Barrington Tops is a twenty-five-kilometre long plateau extending between a series of extinct volcanic peaks in the Mount Royal Ranges, an easterly offshoot of the Great Escarpment. Eighty kilometres west of surf and sand, as the black cockatoo flies, one-and-a-half kilometre high mountains rise to swirling mists.

More than twenty valleys radiate from the hub of the plateau. Wild rivers become waterfalls plunging from great heights into fern-lined gorges. Rainforest in Barrington Tops National Park is the southernmost link in a chain of remnant rainforests in central Eastern Australia protected by World Heritage listing.

Ellenborough Falls


Ellenborough Falls, with a single drop of 200 metres, is the largest waterfall in the southern hemisphere and is a popular destination for local families and visitors

Facilities include timber stairway to the bottom of the falls with rest stops on the way, picnic and barbeque areas, a food kiosk and public toilets.

Taree


Taree is the major service centre of the Manning Valley. Located on the Manning River, Taree features beautiful riverside parks which are ideal for enjoying a picnic, feeding the seagulls and pelicans or simply enjoying the tranquil views across the river.

A large part of the Manning River is also a declared recreational fishing haven which allows for plenty of boating and fishing opportunites. Taree offers an excellent shopping centre with a wide variety of shops and has various styles of accommodation.
